About me
Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center Facility Manager. Heather Pitman’s professional career began in public education. She taught many grades and many subjects, including chemistry, physics and the natural sciences. Her goal as a science teacher was to engage students in the natural world, and show them how everything in our world is connected, and their responsibility in being stewards of that interconnectedness. As Facility Manager of the AGFC Fred Berry Crooked Creek Nature Center, she continues this goal, sharing AGFC’s mission of conservation with schools, clubs, civic organizations and the public populace in North Central Arkansas. Utilizing her experience as a teacher, sharing her passion for all things outdoors and educating others about the conservation mission of AGFC enables Heather to be a true environmental steward for The Natural State.
